Dragon Quest Smash/Grow Adds Dragon Quest IV Crossover, Zenithian Equipment

Square Enix has announced a new Dragon Quest IV crossover event for its mobile roguelite RPG, Dragon Quest Smash/Grow. The event begins October 20, 2026, and runs through December 15. The crossover also coincides with the game’s Half Anniversary celebration.

During the event, players will encounter characters from Dragon Quest IV and gain access to Ally Blessings, special abilities that summon these characters during stages to assist in combat. Increasing bond levels with the characters will reward players with additional items and Ally Blessings.

A second mechanic, Memoria Skills, will arrive in a later update during the crossover period. These abilities activate when players raise a Character Memory to Rank S and equip it in a star-marked slot matching the Memory’s color.

Players can upgrade Character Memories obtained during the event to Rank S, allowing them to keep summoning their associated Dragon Quest IV characters after the collaboration ends.

The Half Anniversary celebration introduces additional login rewards available through December 15. Players can receive up to 5,000 free gems during the campaign.

A separate promotion increases Adventurer Rank EXP and gold earned from certain stages through November 4. The EXP bonus applies to players at Adventurer Rank 29 or below, and the gold bonus is also part of the limited-time campaign.

The update also adds the Zenithian equipment set, including the Zenithian Sword. Its Coup de Grâce, Zenithian Strike, launches a sweeping attack that deals physical wind damage to nearby enemies.

The weapon also features the Zenithian Blast Enchantment, which releases six wind-infused blasts on every tenth mighty strike.

Dragon Quest Smash/Grow is available on mobile devices via iOS and Android.
